The gorgeous brocades in these Banaras silk scarves with their enamel like decorations can be seen in a number of paintings from Shahjahan's period known for their minute details. The main patterns in these scarves are similar to those seen in Mughal paintings, like floral arabesque, geometrical trellis designs, and the ogival, surrounded by decorative borders.

The problem was one of delivery. The order was three weeks late having been sent all over the US. They even failed to get from LA to Pasadena! I enlisted my son living in the US who finally achieved the delivery!
